I like the idea of a stopper for the cut lines. I just crimped the "reservoir end" of the line until I was ready to cut and flare it, and didn't worry as much about the "brake caliper end" of the line since there would be very little fluid leaking (at least on the vehicle I did, because of the routing of the line, and of course, the sealed nature of that end of the system).

Messy, but compared to the cost of having a stealership do this job, it's SO worth DIYing. OTOH, I doubt I'll be doing a brake line any time soon, since I've pretty much sworn off cars that haven't spent their entire lives in the southwest desert! ;-)

Im always amazed and envious of those high milage cars where the underbody looks like it just came out the factory

Nice, definitely getting one of these if i have to do this again, or when I try to remove the hoses from the lines just incase.
