Yes, too thick, can't close it up. For reliable fitting parts, I almost always to go idparts.com for my diesel. Never a problem.

I put the Mahle 6510940104 filter in mine a few months back. No problems.

As long as it's a quality part (ie, Mann, Mahle, Bosch, etc.) it should fit just like the factory MB does.

Good thing they don't require replacement too often, so you only have to do the job once every 40K miles or so.

FCPEuro.com is another place for good OEM stuff.

Yes, one nice feature of the FCPEuro website ... when you narrow down the the available part (like an air filter), there is a tag "Confirmed Fitment" for each part in the list ... which obviously means other folks have ordered the part and it fits just like OEM. If you don't see the tag, avoid it (maybe?).

This is just a personal opinion ... if I can find a part locally - in and out the door in minutes. I did this when the Aux battery went bad on our 2014 GLK Base. I drove up to the auto parts, bought the battery, swapped it in the parking lot, and gave them the old battery (to avoid the core charge). In less than an hour, I was back home with new battery in place

And let's say that new battery dies before warranty... no wait for shipping back-n-forth (and cost of shipping) - within an hour, we'll have a replacement.

Admittedly, not all folks are in close proximity to auto parts stores. And yea, for the more unique parts, we would have to order online or go to MB dealer parts.

FCP Euro opened a location in my "town" (Mesa, AZ) but I haven't explored the option of picking up new parts or dropping off return parts (yet). It is cool to get overnight shipping for free though!

Before my previous post, I actually did an FCPEuro search for an air filter for our GLK. I don't recall seeing an STP option - not suggesting it doesn't exist, but for our GLK, FCPEuro doesn't have it.

And out of boredom (retired 3 years ago), I thought I'd do a general Internet search ... and yea, I see two STP filter choices (odd K&N also showed up) at a local auto parts (AutoZone) for our GLK. They each look different ... plus each choice has a tag:
"Check if this fits your Mercedes Benz GLK350".
Yea, I did specify the make / model

And yea, if you bought it at a local parts store, you can go back for an instant swap. If ordered online, now you have to ship it back and wait for the new shipment (replacement). Okay, I've beat this opinion into the ground - sorry.

I had asked at the front desk of Autozone for the correct filter..... next time I'll do the research myself. Nice guys though!
