Preventative water pump change

Anyone change the water pump as a preventative measure? The mechanic just said not to do it unless there a leak or issue but I read online this water pump has internal issues of leaking coolant into the vacuum system.
Car is at 160,000 KM right now,.

2015 GLK 250
I cannot say if it is worth it to do it preventatively or not, but when I bought my 2015 GLK 250 second hand the water pump was leaking (you could smell some coolant). Luckily, there was very insignificant coolant to be found in the vacuum line.

The most important: Replace it with a new pump from Mercedes themselves. No aftermarket OEM equivalent. There is a vacuum port that is missing and is only present inside the MB pump. There is a video on YouTube from a sprinter mechanic (same engine) where he tells his tale of trying multiple pumps until he finds that the MB pump is different inside. If you don't replace with the MB pump your GLK will start throwing Check engine light about the issue. This is one case where you'll want to ensure you use the MB part specifically.

I wasn't so much worried about the pump leaking, but at almost 10 years old and 125K miles, I opted to replace the drivebelt, tensioner, and rollers, so it made practical sense to also change the WP with the updated metal impeller type and new coolant at the same time.
