A funny thing happened on the way to this forum...
Lately my GLK250 has been setting P0299, and sometimes P056E as well. Today I was driving up a long grade at 55 mph. I wanted to get up to 60 but no amount of throttle resulted in any acceleration. Hitting the kickdown switch had no effect, nor did trying the manual shift paddles. It seemed I was limited to about 2500 rpm. Even on the flat it wouldn't shift past 6th gear. The CEL never came on, and when I got to my destination, my Scangauge II said "No Codes". When I restarted and drove back, performance and shifting were all normal, but I did set P0299, which recently has been normal; it sets every 2 or 3 trips. Also, the car did a normal regen on the way home. To the best of my knowledge, it was not doing a regen on the way out, although I didn't specifically look for one.
When P0299 is set there is not a significant difference in overall performance, although I sometimes think the shifting is a little sloppy: a little early and a little harsh.
Any ideas?

P0299 has been coming and going for several weeks now, but this is the only time there were any performance or transmission issues, and, as I said, the CEL didn't come on until the next trip, so I'm assuming P0299 didn't occur until the next trip, either.
