I have a screen shot from the dealership showing "Prod. Date" of 2016/07/3D. I was first told that meant it would be started on July 30th which is a Sat. Later, I was told it meant July 3rd which is a Sunday. I learned while talking to the plant about a possible tour when I near there next that they run 3 shifts but don't work on the weekends.
That last thing in the Prod. Date is clearly a "D"...not a "0". I've read about the term decade used by MB & assume that refers to which week of the month the build date would be. If that's the case, the vehicle will be built the 3rd week of July.
Can someone who knows how this works please advise me?
It means 3rd decade (each decade is about 10 days)...so basically the week following the 20th. My build is 2D and I was told week of the 12th.

The dealership called yesterday & confirmed what you said about the "decade" being correct. He said that if it's built early in the 3rd decade it would likely arrive at the dealership by the end of July since it's hot very far from the plant.
I also learned that as long as the order is coded yellow in the MB system, changes may be made to the order. Once it turns to red, it's a firm order & will be built as is with no further changes allowed.
