Can you factory order the iPad docking station? I custom ordered a GLS, and had to go to the ends of the earth to get the electrified docks in a previous car.

The problem is that Mercedes advertises the iPad docks very incoherently. On their site, they show a picture of the brackets with no power plug, and then in the description say it powers the iPads. On other parts of their site they show the electrified docks and say it has an "integral charging option" or doesn't mention charging altogether.

My dealer had never even heard of the docks with the power adapters before, and I had to go into EPC to get the part numbers so they can order them and put them in.

I'm hoping to avoid the headache this time around and order the iPad docks from the factory, if that's possible. I can't find an option code for it, and it seems to be classified more as an accessory, even though it needs to be wired into the car.

 

The iPad docks only fit older iPads - last generation - so that's why your dealer isn't familiar.

Good aftermarket docks are cheaper - "better"

 

Can I order the docks from the factory with the build, or can only the dealer put them in?
