Headliner Question

Hello,

I ordered a GLS a while back, and while I am waiting for it (should be here in a few weeks) I was looking over the specs.

I picked Grey Leather during the build, and noticed it comes with a black headliner. I never actually chose the headliner, when they entered the options into the computer it just came out with one, unless the salesman chose black. According to the Dealer Ordering Guide, you have a choice of Grey or Black. I would have preferred grey. On the online configurator, grey leather automatically gives you a black headliner. A long time ago, I ordered a MB and tried to change the headliner from GREY TO BLACK, and they told me the system would not let them do it.

My question is, do Crystal Grey Seats (I mean, they are basically almost white) automatically give you a black headliner, or was it possible to choose all along?

Thanks.

You get to choose the color. If you select the grey leather, it doesnt automatically change the color of the headliner. You need to select the color separately.

Do you automatically get a black headliner with light grey seats unless you change it to grey?

No. But you could think your dealer would do that for you automatically!

I believe the interior color choice dictates the headliner color. I didn't think the headliner color was a separate color choice.

The default headliner on our GLS450 was light colored and we specifically requested and have now a black one.

In the French configurator, the default is black and if you change your seats to light color, the headliner stays black. You can however change it to white/grey at no cost.

It's very vague. I ordered an ML a while back with black seats and the dealer's system automatically added a grey headliner. I later changed to grey seats and asked to change to a black headliner to match and they said the system would not let them change the headliner.

The online configurator automatically puts a black headliner when you choose grey seats and adds a light/beige headliner when you choose one of the dark seat options.

It seems like whatever their system spits out is the headliner you get.

A gaggle of MB's
Yes and no - you can select/spec color headliner and override the default headliner choice.

Good to know. To bad the web configurator doesn't include that selection.
