2017 GLS 550 order lead time
I ordered a 2017 GLS 550 this past September and the dealer told me 4 months until delivery. Now they say because I ordered the Designo white exterior and designo brown interior this was adding ANOTHER 6-8 weeks. I have ordered several Benzes before and never took this long. This is the first time for designo colors however.
Has anyone else heard of this taking so long?

At the time of your-order-to-dealer - that dealer did not already have a changeable GLS550 order - then yes, they were shining you on about delivery date - they were waiting for a fresh order slot to open up for them - when that production slot opened up for them - then Designo Brown interior was back-ordered - leading them to wait for another later slot when Designo Brown interior was available.
If I had been looking for a GLS550 in September - I would have searched for a delaer that could have given me PO# for a end-Nov/beg-Dec production date the way I wanted it.
That's hindsight now - sorry about that..
