GLS at invoice a good deal?
going between a couple of dealers. One said they would give me 10% off MSRP but made a big deal about getting my trade in valued. Makes me worried they will low ball the trade to make up the money. The car at that dealer has a sticker of $79400.
The other dealer has the car with every option we want including panoramic roof, lighting, premium, etc and will sell at $77700 which they say is invoice. Sticker is $82700
not sure of the actual invoice price...maybe they are telling the truth. Is that a good deal?

If you are wondering - $77,738 is the "invoice" price of that GLS.... and personal opinion on a GLS that has the features you want - invoice is a solid deal - check your trade value with a 3rd party value guide - my recommendation is edmunds.com - so you have 3rd party benchmark to use as target trade value when you run it into the dealer to wrap up the full transaction

Thanks all. The deal worked out. Fantastic vehicle. There was a little drama though, as the local dealer didn't have the car I wanted but said they could the one I did want in a dealer trade. So they gave me a sheet with the price breakdown and a vin number and said they would get it Monday. They also said they would give me 10% and $30K for my trade. Seemed like a great deal, as that was well below the stated invoice.
But.... Something seemed a little fishy though...i couldn't put my finger on it. The dealer that DID have the vehicle I wanted was 2 hour drive away, which is why initially I was OK with the local guys getting the car in a trade. But I drove home and told my wife that I think we needed to make the trip and see the car. So we spent all afternoon yesterday battling traffic to make it there. Tried to get the dealer to match the terms of the local guy and they said they couldn't...that the would lose $3000. Finally pulled out the VIN the local guys gave me and the dealer said "this VIN is different than our car". They put the VIN into their system and pulled up the specs on my "promised car". The specs were completely different than what i asked for....and it said my local guy had the car on their lot!
In the end, the dealer with the vehicle we wanted split the difference and gave us close to 8% off. Sticker was $82730, sold for $76400. Given that it was the only vehicle with a pano roof within 500 miles, I thought it was a great deal. Other specs: trailer hitch, harmon kardon, power easy entry, rear entertainment pre wiring, premium 1, lighting package, appearance package, 3 zone climate, and parking assist package. And boy, what a difference compared to our 2014 MDX.
