Center console is burning HOT!!!

What was the issue, dealer they never heard of the issue before.
Did anyone get this fixed? I would like to know what it is to help expedite the process.
I noticed my console was rather warm, and found that by closing the rear seat air registers it solved the problem. When warm air is called for, as it is during cooler weather, the console is warmed by warm air flowing through a duct in the console, supplying the rear seat registers.
The suggestion is to be sure the rear seat registers are affirmatively closed.

I just took my '17 GLE to the dealer in Wisconsin. Very cold here in winter and we have been having this heat issue (161 Degrees F in coin pocket under the dash), and i brought in the car with the issue present.
MB Dealer said they have never seen this before, so they took apart the whole center console/dash to investigate.
They found nothing wrong with ducting/assembly, but they also replicated the problem on 2 different cars.
They concluded this was normal when running heater for long periods, especially if vents are closed.
(FWIW they did not charge anything for this service)
