Firm ride of 2017 GLS450
I really like the smoothness of the driving experience with my 2017 GLS450 with 20" Continentals. But I don't like the excessive body roll. As I understand it, the 450's dynamic settings options will not allow for firming the ride as in the 550. I can switch to either the sport or individual modes which alter the engine and transmission response but not the ride. Am I getting it wrong or are there any hacks to firm it up?

First of all, thanks for responding to
my question.
I have neither the Adaptive sway bar controls nor the Active Curve System. But I do think I’ve got
it. Go to dynamic settings, then individual and then select drive and steering. There the options are sport or comfort for each. I’ll tinker with it to see if it’s worth fooling with.
Is it just me or do any of you suffer frustration when navigating the dated MB operating system? They should contract Apple to start from scratch and bring it up to date. I’ll figure it out but I consider it an unnecessarily steep learning curve.
my question.

The ads system was an original option on your car, but rarely taken.
It has the ability to firm the suspension to make the ride more engaging or comfortable and this counteract body roll.
If body roll is a big issue, the active curve system helps a lot and was often optioned on the 550s more than the 450s and standard on the 63.

The only thing you can really do at this point on your car is to at your own cost change the air suspension to one with the ads system and program the car to accept the new suspension system.

I wasnt aware of that fact. I surmised all airmatic equipped vehicles could be adjusted since both my c400 and e43 did. I have noticed that the C450 lacks quite a few standard features in the quest for the smaller sticker price. The 450 has a ton of options, the 550 a few and the 63 almost none.
Of all markets I think the gls 450 would have been perfect to come standard with the ads system considering the state of the roads here in the US.
The way the ads system performs with potholes and road imperfections is like night and day compared to those without.
The active curve even more so if you're used to a canyon carver.
Although op can always try different summer tires that are firmer to counteract the body roll...but honestly our gl tires are not cheap so unbelievably but true....changing tires might be as expensive as changing the struts to ads.
Haha maybe not as much but close.
