I want OEM black exhaust tips for the GLS

Let me explain…. I have a GLS550 with night package. I want blacked out exhaust tips to complete the look. I'm aware of Chinese kits on Ebay to convert it over to the AMG63 rear diffuser with quad pipes. Its a great look, but I'm a big advocate of OEM spec parts.

So...Here's my question. Does anyone know whether the GLS' exhaust tip (referred to in the parts catalog as tailpipe extender I believe), is the shared with the GLE (the suv formerly known as ML). I'm also assuming that the GLS450 with appearance package and GLS550 use the same tailpipe extender. There is a factory black tailpipe extender for the GLE with night package that also is technically a quad tip (minor but nice detail). I'd like to put those on the GLS550.

BTW, I had chrome exhaust tips powder coated black on one of my other cars and it doesn't last.

Does anyone know if these GLE and GLS parts are interchangable?

Thanks,
DRP

The vehicles are different widths so I would think the tips are not interchangeable.

They’re not as different as you think. The W166 ML (currently GLE) shares many parts with the X166 GL(and GLS).

+1 because if you walk next to both cars together the size difference is noticeable since the car itself is bigger considering the tires also being used

Yes they do but the exhaust is not interchangeable between the two.

I agree I want black ones too. I dont want the AMG ones just the regular 550 ones in black.
