grabby/juddering distance pilot distronic and not stopping

hi

ok our car is a **** heap, but asking if any one else has had my issues?

three issues.

1/ Distronic braking at slow speeds/crawling in traffic; the car judders as the brakes grab like the ABS is pulsing slightly. [Or cold brakes; which they are not!]

Every loan car i have had, and its been a lot of them, has had silky smooth distronic. Coming to a smooth stop and activating quite some distance from the car in front, even on the shortest setting.

2/ ours at times, doesn't "see' the car and just keeps going requiring the driver to stop the car. These are at slow speeds, 40kmh 25mph, as I wouldn't trust it at higher speeds to ever stop for a car in front.
which leads onto...

3/ Generally high way cruise isn't too bad, but since it came back last week from its 5 week service epic, it is now sometimes not slowing down if a car pulls in front into my safety gap.

just seeing if others have had this so I can attempt to trace the issue

ta Nigel

Cool

Hey mate, quite disheartening to hear that you're 'still' having issues with your GLS.

Mine is almost 12 months old now, and it's been flawless so far, so they're not all bad. Only 13,000kms though, so it's still early days.

Best of luck with getting yours sorted once & for all.

Cheers

Same here. My distronic is very smooth. Note: its not always perfect, but 99%. If you are in crawling traffic make sure its on comfort mode, in sport, acceleration and subsequent braking, may be too abrupt. I love MB distronic, the only thing that gives me pause is that braking while smooth, stops very close to the car in front so it can be a little unnerving. The latest version available on the E class is even better since, on the highway, if conditions are favorable, it drives essentially "hands optional" most of the time.
