2013 GL450
2020 GSL pricing

I bought our '13 GL450 as a CPO used vehicle. I've bought several new 1/2 ton trucks over the years new - and never paid over invoice price. I've never bought a Mercedes brand new. I'm really interested in the 2020 GLS 450, and would likely trade our 2013 in on it.

Do Mercedes dealers typically give dealer discounts on - what, I expect to be - a popular new vehicle? I'm a couple hours from any dealer. Is it likely worth my time to travel to several different dealers - or are they all likely to expect MSRP? Just wondering what past experiences have been. I realize there are deals to be had on new '19s, but that isn't what I want. Thanks

GLS450
Don't know about 2020 models but I just received a dealer email offering $7k off a 2019 model ($5500 discount from MSRP plus a $1500 Costco gift card). I am sure you can negotiate down from there.

Yeah,

I know there are deals to be had on the 2019s - they are trying to clear them out. Not only because of the new model year in general, but because the 2020 is a new "generation," so they want to clear the prior generation vehicles.

So I'm not sure that deals on an older generation (although still new) equate to deals that may be had on the newer, replacement generation.

Please post in the V167 Forum - which is dedicated to the "New Generation GLS".

1. Yes - when a New Generation like the 2020 GLS is introduced - Dealer's have 6% Top Line Profit Margin and don't have added cash equivalent incentives from Mercedes.

2. Yes - when a New Generation like the 2020 GLS is introduced - Mercedes does not even allow Employee (Friends and Family) Purchase either

3. Your Dealer's are getting 1st GLS450 deliveries now - so I suggest you arrange a appt/visit/test-drive with the Dealer closest to you

4. 2020 GLS450 Production will be very/very tight - the GLS580 will be hard pressed to make 1st deliveries before Christmas

5. Putting all the hee-hawing from other members aside - for me - I am perfectly straightforward to fairly "split" the Top Line Profit with a loyal customer - they get a decent-for-right-now - this morning's delivery of my 1st 2020 GLS450 "Captain's 6-seater" was 2.5% discount for my customer so he knows I care - and I gave him decent trade value for his 2019 GLS450 with 1,335 miles.. no drama... nice new rig he will like even better..

If you live in the New York area, go to Mercedes Manhattan. They are a flagship dealer and isn’t allowed to sell any car over sticker price by strict corporate rules
