Got my first service last month for my 2018 GLS63. Dealer says rear brakes are at 4 out of 12. Only 9000 miles on the car. Dealer asked if I use distronic cc often, yes. Regardless seems pretty quick to go through brake pads. Anyone using different pads?

GLS 550
We have a 2017 GLS 550, and the brakes lasted to about 32K. I don't know if that helps.

Different brakes, but that is much closer to what I experienced with my 2008 Chevy Tahoe.

Use the search button on this site and you will find many reports of rapid tire and brake wear on the 63 and 63s models. Likely a combination of usage profile (operator) and design.

Only MBs - the best or nothing

About normal for 166 GL/GLS/ML/GLE 63s. My rears on '15 ML63 lasted 8K miles and were replaced when car was CPOed (I've deselected all driver assist brake functions ever since and am getting significantly less rear wear). Fronts were just replaced at 15.5K miles (were "good enough" for at least 500 miles more). So with normal use with all brakes related electronic gadgets "disconnected", 16K miles (exact miles will depend on driving style and conditions) is possible both front and rear for 63s, otherwise fronts last about double of the rears.

'17 GLS450 here. Just completed the 30k "A" service. Recorded 9mm front, 7mm rear remaining. I do lots of highway driving with most of it is in the Rocky Mountains so plenty of fast descents. I don't ever use distronic and rarely use cruise control during downhill sections. I've noticed the GLS maintains speed while going downhill with the cruise on while my other cars will gain speed. I'm sure the brakes are used as part of this feature too.
