Was wandering what the extra pump is for?

Was wandering if this was a reserve gas tank? And if anyone knew how much fuel it can hold?

ah figured it out.... if its a diesel thats where the def fluid goes...

Sorry for the late reply, it's a 2020 gls 450. Not too sure on it being a diesel, didn't know they sold diesel variants in the US. It has an inline 6

the 2018 gls manual shows it as the def fluid reservoir... oddly the 2020 manual shows no extra hole like yours does ?

correct, I read through the manual yesterday and couldn't find it. It was simply just not there...

Ask your dealer's service department.

My best guess is that it has something to do with lithium battery (reason? because all previous years gasoline cars without EQ boost do not have it), but I may be totally wrong.
