So I have searched (probably the wrong way, I am not the best at searching) and cannot find an answer to my question. I looked in the owners manual and found out where the light in question is noted but with no answer as to what it means or what it is for. So with no further trying to cover my butt with my first post that I feel has probably been covered 100 times.
What is this light for and why does it come on when I an on the brakes or off the gas coasting? Seems like a hybrid charging light, but to my knowledge there is no charging system on a 2019 GLS450.
That is the indicator that the battery is charging from the alternator. The alternator is clutched, and is disengaged when driving at a constant speed. Upon deceleration, the clutch engages and charges the battery. MB does this to improve fuel economy by reducing engine load.
