Floor mats

Hello, shopping for new floor liners for a 17 gls550 specifically weather tech floor liners vs. the floor liners from mb parts. Anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks.

I have the first and second row and cargo liner from Weathertech. I've now had them for about 2 months. The first row (driver and passenge) fit great like they were painted on and they stay put. The color is also spot on (have the ginger/espresso interior and the brown is a perfect match).

The second row is pretty good, and doesn't slide around, but isn't really secured by tabs or anything.

I didn't buy third row since we never use the third row and we keep the seats down.

The cargo mat is a bit disappointing. It's just not a real precise fit as you get with the first two rows, so it does slide around a bit and needs an adjustment once in awhile. I quasi fixed it by buying on stick on velcro from Home Depot and sticking the hooked velcro strips on the bottom side so that it grips the carpet. Pretty disappointed given that for $130 that I paid they could get the piece of rubberized plastic to fit better.

These are so much better than the Weathertech mats. I have them and swapped for ones from 3W in my 166 GLE and GL. https://smile.amazon.com/3W-Mercedes...3734021&sr=8-2

They are floor mats but not like the 3W ones. What I like most about the 3W brand is that the drivers side foot rest and foot well covering goes way up so it lessens the chance to get debris behind/under the mats. This is where those you posted on ebay and the Weathertech mats fall short.

Thank you to all for the great input. After review I decided on the 3w mats.

To this point, I have the MB ones that dealer include when purchased my 17 GLS550. The coverage for the dead-pedal spot doesn't go up far enough so I have a section of old wetsuit that I cut to fit and protect carpet. This goes behind the not tall enough weathertech/MB floor mat to hold it in place. Works but the 3W if taller are likely a better option.

Yes, that's exactly why I switched to the 3W. They are much taller than the Weathertech or MB all weather mats.

Are the 3W mats/trays more flexible than the WeatherTech mats? In the past I found the WeatherTech mats to be a bit stiff, and the edges, especially the edges that come up close to vertical to contain liquid, sometimes warp or become "wavy" which looks ugly. Would be curious to hear how the 3W compare. Thanks!

So far the 3w mats have been pretty good. They lay flat, and are easy to clean. They look good too. Wouldn’t call them flexible but easy enough to take out when cleaning.

Hello Gents,
swapped the Weathertech front liners with the Maxspider 3D. Like them better. Somehow WT fitting was not so much perfect(as in the Q7-where they held great during winter season) . The MS3D fit perfect, and feel better. WT loo thin, rigid. These feel more comfortable and luxurious. Can't talk about long term use, but they seem to non mark and clean easily. Plus cheaper on Amazon.
chirboiz,

Bob
