Replace non-drilled front rotor with drill rotor
I'm considering replacing my non-drilled rotor with drilled rotor on 2017 GLS450 x166. When drilled rotors are offered I find they are specified the AMG sports edition which my car is not. Anyone have experience with this? Concerned whether it'll fit and if exiting braking system is compatible. Thanks!

I've tried regular and advanced, didn't see any results on this specific topic. I'm sure this topic is not new. If you happen to have the link handy, please send it my way, very interested. Thanks!

In my humble opinion, the only benefit to drilled rotors is heat dispersion. Heat over time and I mean HI heat over time can likely wear the pads a bit more. If you are a general condition driver and not a race track driver with the vehicle you will see no difference. The race drivers vehicles are always slotted to dissipate heat to not cause warping and or even heavy glazing. I have had them both on at times and personally I see no difference.

I'm running aftermarket drilled rotors on my 164 GL450. I've had them on the car for over 150k miles. The GL450 isn't driven much now but new pads and rotors are awaiting my installation. Believe it or not, I have another 5k to 10k miles in the pads. The rotors have held up amazing. For reference, stock MB rotors and pads were due at 100k miles.
