Dealer Repair Prices

I just visited the mercedes dealer for the first time on December 31st. The brake lighting warning came on. After spending $1117, I decided to check the receipt for the item. To my surprise, the price of the parts were a lot more at the dealer compared to the mercedes website (https://www.mercedesbenzstarparts.com/). Like the below

Rotor - Mercedes-Benz (166-421-14-00)

The mercede dealer charge me $194.36 but the website cost is $127.28. That's over 50% mark up on top of a $340 labor cost.

Receipt

Do you guys go to the mercedes dealer for your repairs?
Do you notice the price inflation at your mercedes dealership as well?
Can I buy the parts online and take it to the dealership for install?

Not unless it is a warranty repair or transmission fluid change. I changed the front and rear rotors and pads for less than $400 on my GL63. The new pads and rotors have been flawless for over 20k miles.

Yes dealers charge the highest prices known to all of humankind.

I use the dealer selectively for things I don't want to do myself. It's a cost/benefit tradeoff and I know what I am getting into ahead of time.

Generally you can't bring parts to the dealer. You might be able to negotiate this with an independent shop.

I had a 2014 ML350 that the fuel pump stopped working. Took it to the dealer for repairs. Later compared parts prices from a online dealer on the east coast. Parts from the Ft Worth dealer were twice from the east coast online dealer. Each and every part to fix the SUV.

Got the car back. Kid brought the car up to the front where I picked it up. He told me to not get in, there was something wrong with it. He went into the service advisor and told her. She called to the backshop and got an answer. They told her it was air in the lines. Anybody who tells you that is incompetent and a useless 'thing' residing on the face of the earth. It's an insult.

Found out the Ml would run crummy until the water temp got up to ?? something like 150*F and over. Same result day after day after the repair.

IF they ran the engine., which I assume they did after the repair, then any AIR would have been cycled out of the lines after ten minutes or less. I won't have my Mercedes serviced at a dealer unless it's an under warranty repair. They fall under the heading of useless twits if they tell me 'air' is the cause of a rotten idle until the car warms up. Nah, make that incompetent useless twits.
