na looking to buy
GLS Headlights
Just took delivery on a 2017 CPO GLS 550; nice feel to it, but in driving it last night in the country, went to hit the brights and dashboard indicator came on indicating the brights were on but nothing changed with the lights? Any ideas are appreciated I just got the the car yesterday!

You probably had it on auto. Check the dial to the lower left of the steering wheel. If it is auto, pushing the stalk forward will not turn on the high beam but you can pull back to illuminate. If not on auto, you can push forward to activate the high beams.

IF you had the Blue light come on in the cluster, indicating brights are on, then the problem isn't Auto etc. Blue light won't come on unless the lights Are on bright. Just myopinion.

My bad. On previous vehicles I owned the blue light would not come on unless the bulbs themselves were powered on. Oh well.

Adaptive Beam - when the stalk is pushed forward won't the lights only come on when needed i.e no oncoming vehicle and no street lights?

Yes, when you set the headlight dial to Auto mode.
