Access to Oxygen Sensor
Folks, X166 GLS I have and i am looking to know how best to access the Bank 2 Sensor 1 Oxygen Sensor located upstream left side?
Best to access from below or from top or if anyone has yet to replace with any suggestions?
I have been getting the P0150 code even after resetting so it seems its faulty in nature,,
Thanks for any advice,
Mike

Hi Mike, this was a pain but I was able to get to it from underneath the car. Access is very tight and I was even contemplating removing the exhaust but it wasn't necessary. What did help is removing that small heat shield, I think it allowed me to get my arm further in there to disconnect and place the open ended o2 wrench on it. Good luck.

Thanks adam5oh for the reply,
I actually was able to get in from the top removing the air filter housing and going down the back firewall... However I cannot see the wiring harness, only by feel so I just ordered a small snake camera so I can see what my eyes cannot see. I found it hard to even see anything from undermeath but will try that again,,
Thanks
Mike

If you search enough you will find discussions on this.
I looked quickly at WIS and nothing came up. From memory the other threads on this resulted in WIS not having anything therefore the procedure is obvious to the average skilled MB technician.
Looking at EPC I would go at this from under the car given the turbos probably block access from above.

Updates to p0150 and p064e
All,
So I had a P0150 code for an 02 sensor. Dealer replaced it but it still did not remove the check engine, however, they noted there was a p064e code ICM module error. They told me that the next step was to replace the ICM as they had to order it. Thank goodness all is under warranty, but wondered if anyone else has had such similar issues.
