Led headlamp fan

I have a 2018 550 and the left Headlight assembly is making a ton of noise... the fan appears to likely have a bearing or something going out. A buddy of main hooked up a diagnostic and was able to switch the fan on/off and verify it is the fan and a much different noise than the right LED headlamp. The question I have, is this fan replaceable with out having to buy a whole HL assembly? I cannot find a parts diagram that shows the fan... so I am thinking no. But wanted to check here.

Just curious, how did you know the headlight was having a problem? Was it loud enough to hear it from inside the vehicle while you were driving?

The fan in the headlamp is louder than the engine... it's crazy. I can be standing 50 feet away and hear it. A buddy of mine hooked it up to the computer and was able to switch the fan relay on/off and it's definitely a bad bearing or something. The right on doesn't make any noise. I found a used assembly on ebay for $850 versus the dealer cost of $2500.

I know this thread is 3 years old, but I am having this exact same issue, Can I ask how you resolved it?

Thanks.
