2019 GLS450 softer brake feel after new pads and rotors

Changed all pads and rotors on my wife’s 2019 GLS450. Put Powerstop K7445 on. The truck stops fine and well within the normal stopping distance measurements as noted by the Almighty internets (43m/141’). Broke in / seated the pads to the rotors as specified by Powerstop. Everything looks fine as far as seeing wear on all rotor surfaces etc. Had a friend of mine look (long time tech, non-MB) and everything is installed correctly and he said “it feels fine to him”.

My wife, who is the DD, said the pedal has much more travel than it did before. Not a “touchy” as it was with the stock pad and rotor set. After she said that I drove it again. I did not notice it, but I only drive it once in a while and I drive a lumber truck (Tundra) so the brakes feel much more sporty to me.

Am I missing something? Did I miss a step in the process? Is there something that needs to be reset electronically that I missed? I did set the pads to the changing position prior to starting and reset prior to driving. I have done brakes for years and never had an issue. Is it the Powerstops? I am at a bit of a loss.

Note: I do have access to Snapon Diag tools if needed.

Thanks in advance for anyone who has info and takes the time to write back!

I have no experience with that kit, but looks like it uses ceramic pads. Ceramic pads don't have the same initial bite as semi metallic pads, and particularly in colder temperatures. So what your wife probably notices is that she has to push the pedal harder to get the same initial braking response as before.

Replaced the rear pads and rotors with Power Stop CRK7448 two years and 17000 kilometers ago without any issues. The pads are a carbon fiber ceramic blend. Mind you the fronts are still OEM and that is where most of the work is done.
