Tire and suspension question

I'm looking at new tires for my GLS 550 and I'd like to go up a bit in size. Potholes are prevalent where I am (thanks New England) and taller sidewalls should help mitigate the problem.

I'm wondering how large I can go without rubbing. The stock tires are 295 40R21 I'm also curious if there exists any kind of spacers for the air springs so I can get a bit more lift (an inch would do). Long ago I came across a spacer kit for the X164 GL but I can't seem to find anything for the X166.

Finally, are there any wheel spacer kits? I'd like the wheels/tires to be a bit more flush with the fender flares. 10-20mm should do.

Thanks in advance.

You might check into Johnson Rods. i know they work on Range Rover air suspensions.

H&R Springs make good wheel spacers with the TRAK+ system. Here is a link to the US Importer site. They are sold through lots of performance shops around the US.

I think you should be able to go up one size without any issues. So 295-45R21 as seen from this post linked below. 295 45R21 are 31.45 inch diameter and 305 40R 22 are 31.60 inch diameter.
