Steering Wheel Tilt Works But Doesn’t Go Up All The Way
2016 GL450. The reach adjustment works fine. The tilt goes up and down but it stops short of full height. No weird noises. Is there a reset procedure to restore full range of adjustment? As of now my view of the instrument cluster is blocked.

Not sure but it sounds like you need to adjust the flex shaft from the height adjust motor to the height adjusting spindle. The way it works it can tighten up over time and reduce the motors ability to turn the shaft. My experience is from a 2012 W204 C63 that refused to move up or down at all. I adjusted it as best I could figure it out and it has worked since. Not sure how similar the adjusting mechanism is in a 2016 GL450. The bottom covers on the steering column need to be removed to get access. The area is a bit hard to work in but the job itself is not that hard once you know what you are trying to accomplish. I think there might be a DIY or YouTube video if you search for it. Here are a couple of pics from ALLDataDIY. If I remember correctly all I had to do was adjust the locking nut on the end of the flex shaft to the adjusting spindle and insure it would not tight up again when the flex shaft turns.

I’ve managed to loosen the nut indicated withe yellow arrow, but there seems to be another behind indicated by the red arrow. I have not gotten any increase in travel for the wheel
