have heated cooled cup holders that won’t work. I like the idea of using that space behind

I went with this one for that same reason, it does not take up any space behind, it is completely accessible. Also, the button on the left of the charger is for the cooled cupholder button that is left of the ashtray. I can get a good picture for you if you want.

Yea if you could send a pic of it and what it looks like with the cup holder area closed

You can’t close the cup holder. It sits flush on top of the ashtray compartment. But you can see the button for the cooled cup holders and the cubbyhole behind it.
