GLS450- Parking Brake wont disengage

2017 GLS 450
GLS450- Parking Brake wont disengage
We have a 2017 GLS 450 and recently the parking brake has not been disengaging when putting in gear. For the past week or so every now and again we have to pull the parking brake to release it but today that release didn't work at all and the brakes were stuck on. We turned the car off and then came back and got in and it worked fine again. I am not sure what this is and wondered if anyone knew as I didnt see anything related to this in the forums. Before I go tot the dealer, would anyone have a clue what this could be? thank you.

thank you for the response. I googled them and see what it looks like and I’m happy to change it. Are there one each side and is there a way to decipher which needs to be changed? Thank you

If I recall correctly, it is a sealed unit. These are not expensive and they all go bad. I would even say to do as preventative maintenance every 100k miles or less if you live in a salty environment.
