Tapping sound
I’m looking at.a 2017 GLS w 67g miles.
i was doing a prelim look and when i had hood up I could hear a tapping sound . I be had that w a ford pick up and it was normal “allegedly” to me it never sounds correct in a gas engine. Not that it was to the level of diesel.
Wanted to ask for some feedback .
Any other issues I should be looking for.
It has a good maintenance record all MBD completed and well broken down as to what has been done.
Only thing not spelled out was tranny fluid change but at 67 I’m willing to let that go. I can do it first thing .

Direct injection is loud. That was the first thing I noticed when I bought the '13 E350, and the guy I bought it from assured me it was normal. He even had the dealer compare it to another DI engine; ;they sounded the same. Almost sounds like a cracked exhaust manifold (like on a Ford)
