For a vehicle as large as the X166 SUV, which can weigh up to 3.3 tons when fully loaded, the factory single-piston front and rear braking system may not be adequate to handle sudden stops.

To enhance the safety of the driver and passengers, and to reduce the risk of accidents, the owner of this GLS-Class had us upgrade the braking system with the original AMG Performance high-performance system. This upgrade features 6-piston red calipers at the front and 1-piston calipers at the rear, paired with larger 390mm front and 345mm rear brake discs.

This massive, badass system provides significantly improved braking performance compared to the standard setup allowing shorter stopping distances and enhanced overall driving safety. The front 6-piston calipers, with their unique staggered design, not only look visually striking but also deliver a more linear, less abrupt braking feel.
