I'm curious as to why the GLS580 shows far less flair than what you can do to a GLE350 by adding the AMG exterior? Even just comparing the front grills is enough to see what I mean. You just can't make a GLS all that different from the base model 450 it seems.
Related to this I am surprised that the relatively few AMG interior/exterior enhancements that are on a GLS580 (steering wheel, exterior) are not allowed on a GLS450 so it is required to add ~$20-25K to get those modest enhancements in appearance.
FWIW this has led me to conclude that a 450 is much better value than a 580, and although I do like those small improvements on the 580, I can't justify it.
PS This is an American market question. I think in other geographies those (at least to me) strange limitations don't apply.

Well the top trim 580 isn’t really different outside the US I think so the relatively modest trim change is true world over. It’s just that I think the internal/external trim upgrades can be put onto the 450 outside the US, whereas the US requires you to go to the V8 to get that.
