2020 GLS Software, Siri, Issues
Wanted to put this out there for the benefit of those that encounter same issues as I have. Took delivery of a 2020 GLS 450 a few weeks ago and two issues encountered. 1. Kept getting a pop up message on the screen (left) "Mercedes me connect Services Limited See Operator's Manual" Had to close it out each time and then on the right screen, a message would appear that no data was found in the operators manual. 2. When my iPhone was connected via bluetooth, Siri would not launch when holding up the voice assistant button on the right side of the steering wheel.
Apparently, the vehicle came with an old software version that needed to be updated. Took 4 hours for the service dept. to download the software into the vehicle via a usb drive.
This fixed the issues and all is well.
What was interesting was that it took the service department several hours to figure out what was needed and that they did not have the software to install. They downloaded it to the USB which also took 4 hours for them to accomplish.
Another thing I have learned through other threads is that the latest software version is "fup2". You can find this in the setting/system/systeminfo screen.
Hope this helps others.

Thanks for the info. I wonder how often they update software installed on the production line.
Some good dealers also update all software to latest when they do delivery prep on a car so the customer doesn't encounter these types of issues.

What I learned is that those larger updates (the FUPs) are not user-installed. There is also some info coming through the Internet that an FUP3 was supposed to come out in Q4 of 2019 and was pushed into this year, should be coming out sometime in Q1 of this year.

My 580 was built in February and has a firmware version ntg6_fup2/063. I have auto update enabled but it shows no update available. So the next release must need to get done by the dealer. I don’t see any way in the menus to force an update. It would be nice if there were release notes someplace so we’d know that the difference is between 063 and 077.
