Second row, 7 passenger question

Have had our new GLS for a few days. Can of course go back to the dealer but it is almost an hour away. Appreciate knowing about the second row seat operation. The question is to allow access to the third row you pull and hold for a few seconds the switch on the top of the seat. It folds up nicely. No problem. To put it back, you need to keep you finger on the switch the whole time? And it does not go back to the same position that it started. It is much more upright. Must be something that I am missing.

Yes you have to keep your finger on it the whole time so you dont end up crushing some poor person's foot or something. And it doens't go back to the same position. It goes into a position that provides decent room for the third row passengers. I like to have my second row as far back as possible and leaning back as far as possible as well. At this position, even kids can't sit in the third row. When I fold the second row to give access to the third row, it goes back to a position like you described so that someone in the third row seats won't have their legs turned into fettuccine.

Thank you, I guess that makes sense. Just a little more difficult for the second row passengers to readjust.

That third row is not fit for adult use (of for pasta consumption, for that matter). And what's with those 3rd row headrests? They ought to be reported to Amnesty International or something, because they are cruel and unusual punishment. Can't avoid them even if you adjust their height as fast as you can.
