GLS 450 Starter battery drained
In case anyone else gets bit by this problem...
The starter battery of our GLS, with 999 miles on the odometer, was drained to a critical low level, so the car would not start, while sitting in the garage at home for 5 hours. The dealership said that there is a bulletin on the issue stating that a firmware update to the the starter system needs to be performed.
Regards, Greg

Can you ask for a copy of the bulletin and post it? Sounds like it could affect both models. It would be nice to know if it is only models built before a certain date.

GL 450 Mercedes Benz
*****I purchased this 2007 GL450 4 Matic as a Birthday gift to myself. The Previous owner has a cord running from the front to the rear as if he had an after market Amp or Kicker Box speaker connected. Car needs a jump start after leaving it off over night. Where do I start the trouble shooting process? Has anyone had this issue with my year make and model?***** Do you think thi sissue pertains to my automobile?

See if the airmatic system has a leak. That leads to the pump running all the time and discharging the battery. That happened on my C400. If you hear a pump noise frequently when the car is off. That is probably the problem
