Winter tire selection
Hello All
I'm new to the forum, I own a 2019 GLS 450 and have moved to Northern Ontario where studded tires are not only allowed, but encouraged! I'm not mechanically inclined so I'm hoping to tap into the experience of those who are in this forum.
My 2019 GLS 450 has 295/40r21 tires. when I search for tires by vehicle, I get :Either of these standard tires are less than half the price for studded tires than the odd sized tires that came with my GLS450. For the price of buying studded winter tires 295/40r21, I can buy new rims and studded winter tires using the either of the 19" or 20" standard sizes and still save money Thoughts? Will this effect performance? can I just swap out the 295/40r21's with 275/55r19's?

I have a 2020 GLS580 and live in Sweden.
My winter tires are 275/50 R20 studded Nokian hakkapelitta. Works well but tire noise is remarkably louder!
So no problem at all to change, I even bought them from de MB dealer I bought the car from.
