2021 GLS63 jerked forward while in park
I just got my 2021 GLS63 a couple weeks ago and today while I was in park, for about 5-7 minutes, with the car running, it jerked forward twice. It was maybe an inch or less but still startled me. Anyone experienced this or know why it may have happened?? Thank you 😊

I would suggest trying to replicate it but recording it this time with your iphone / camera. Its just a matter of putting it in park for a few minutes anyway. That way you have something to show your dealer. From experience its always difficult replicating a problem in the dealership. Good luck.

One quick question. It only happens when in sport plus doesn't it? If so the answer is pretty simple, in sport plus the revs are kept higher to keep the engine in the boost zone. Its essentially loading the torque converter and brakes too. Any little input from that restrained powertrain comes with a jolt. If you turn the car off in sport plus the same thing happens next time you turn it on and select any gear. In sport plus there is simply a lot of torque stored in the system when the vehicle is at a standstill. I have made it a practice only to park in comfort mode.

Usually you can barely feel the autostop at all due to the integrated nature of the system. Unlike other vehicles there is no starter. The "starter" is the 48v motor that is part of the transmission..

I have a ‘20 580. When sitting in car (on con call for a while) the car will unexpectedly jerk. Feels like car moves fwd an inch in park. Autostart is off (always runs) and happens in comfort and sport.
Thoughts?
I get the obvious talk to dealer, but interested in how many others have this.

This sounds like the electric parking brake automatically engaging.
The automatic electric park brake lurches the vehicle on its suspension a bit. The wheels don’t turn, but rather the vehicle rocks a bit forward on all of the rubber bits - engine and transmission mounts, suspension and tires.
Depending on vehicle incline, the lurching effect is more or less pronounced. See if you can notice the park brake engaging. On the W/X166 the electric actuator can be heard.
