Suspension issue GLS 580

I noticed a small crackling sounds in the front suspension (normal airmatic without E-ABC), when I took the car to the agency he told me that it might be a factory issue and they will change both front suspension. After a few days he called me and told me its a normal sound from the airmatic system and I have no issue. He even told me all GLS 450 & 580 has this sound

so for anyone who has the GLS (Non EABC) do you noticed as well any sound even a small one from the front suspension? usually it happen to me in unpaved streets

Nothing heard on mine. I travel on paved roads mainly and go very slow <25kmph on unpaved ones. What wheel/tire do you have? I have the 22inch with Continental summer only tires and 21 inch Michelin all season for winter. The 22 inch Continental tires have flat spots which never has gone away 100% and feels like a tire balance problem nothing more. The 21 inch Michelins ride perfect.

I have not had an issue with the air suspension, and i have had a few issues. I dont notice any sound even when raising and lowering the car. I would go back and go for a test drive in another GLS and see if you are hearing the same thing.

I have the same set up on the GLS 580 (23"/P Zero) ... I don't hear any sounds but very rarely I'll get a quick vibration, almost like a lane assist warning but I'm dead center in the lane ... its very odd. Do you feel anything or is a pure sound you hear?

R Al Shamsi - just recently picked up my MY18 GLS450 from the Dealer - 38,000 miles - I had started hearing a low "popping" noise when on uneven surfaces. The Service Manager diagnosed it as a failing driver's side front air suspension strut - although there were no outward signs of failing. Been driving for a week now with zero noise.
Hope this helps some. Steve
