It's just an omission/mistake on the build website. MBUSA sometimes forgets to add every option. When ordering it's available on most 2021 models.

Even if you don’t include it in your build, my understanding is that as long as you have Augmented Navigation, it can be added at the dealer. Can anyone confirm that they have done that?

In short, no, dealers cannot activate it.
Can they in the future? Maybe.
I think it's more likely it'll be available for purchase in the Mercedes me store.
For now, you should really get it optioned at the factory if you really want it.

I wouldn't bother with it.
I tried it and it barely meets the modern standard for a "dashcam".
for not much more, you can do so much better with aftermarket dash cams.
I ultimately decided on Blackvue 750LTE.
I added four external battery modules in the trunk sub-floor storage area. the dash cam can run about 4 days in parking without draining car's battery.
front and back with cellular support. so I can monitor realtime at anytime and would get push notifications if any event happens with parked car.
I'm very happy with this set up.

This is correct.
You have to tell your salesman / dealer that you want this option.
I added an aftermarket ROVE that sits behind the rear view mirror. The video is 4K and can video 12 hours. The only annoying thing is that it is plugged into the lighter socket. I have to figure out how to plug this into the car battery.

I have been on the fence between BMW and MB and finally ordered a GLS580 today. Dash-Cam and Augmented Reality included. No constraints or issues on any of the builds the dealer and I went through today with both options for whats its worth.

For those that have it, where do you put connect the storage device? I have it in my new e53 coupe and it says to add the USB drive. There are several USB-C ports, do I use one of those?
