GPS on crack

I have a 2021 GLS 580 and have noticed that the GPS never seems to select the most obvious route. In fact, the most obvious route does not even show up as an alternate route. Has anyone else noticed this? I have gone through the settings (avoid highways, etc) and don’t see anything amiss. It is basically not usable on trips and I have been using Waze instead on Apple CarPlay.

Unfortunately, this sounds like my experience. I reached the point where I only used it when I knew exactly where I was going and it regularly provided routes that didn't make sense. I stopped using it hoping they would get some momentum with multiple updates, but your post is confirmation that this was a pipe dream.

Unfortunately, Waze is by far, the better option. The only time I have seen a purpose for the stock Navi, is to “show off” the AR function….

This has been my experience too. Really unfortunate, especially considering that they still haven't included wireless Airplay as stock which seems crazy to me.

I've resorted to using the factory GPS for "last mile" navigation. I usually know how to get to the right neighborhood/area without GPS, so I just call up the address when I'm close to my destination to get to the right address. I don't like it, but it's better than watching my GPS try to reroute me every half mile.

Update/fix

Ok, I think I sorted this out. I found an option where it was set to avoid electronic tolls, thereby avoiding the mass pike. Once I changed that setting, the GPS seems to be functioning as expected. Here is the path to find the setting in the NAV settings:

route->avoid options->toll roads->electronic billing->use/avoid
