Order Acceptance Timing?

So I placed an order for a new GLS450 over the weekend and was told we should see the order accepted and an allocation assigned the first half of the week. When I called to check on the status my rep told me that the order is in but not accepted yet by MB and that no other GLS orders have been accepted.

What is the normal timing for loading the build into MB's system to getting the order accepted and an allocation assigned? I find it strange it is taking so long but don't have experience with MB.

MBUSA allocates a certain number of cars per month to the dealers. This allocation usually occurs mid month. If your dealer has an allocation then your order should have been accepted. Ask for the PO number. This signifies you have a build slot.
If your dealer doesn't have an allocated build slot then you go into the order bank and see what happens next month with allocations.

Update on my 450 All Terrain ordered 1-2022

I'm still waiting! I'm told the car got the chip it needed a few months ago, but it hasn't gone to the port because of shipping problems. Given the ship schedule, the best case is that I get the car sometime in November -- 10 months after order. I'm guessing the "best case" is a pipe dream and I'll probably get my 2022 sometime in early 2023.
Has anyone else waited this long for a 2022 E-Class?

This is the exact response I have been given from the dealer I ordered my 2023 GLS63 from. They have been given no allocations for 2023 GLS's yet.

Is this in the US? This is where it's helpful to be with a larger dealer. I waited for almost a year for an allocation for a GLS63 back on 2014. Since then I have switched to a larger dealer with better results. I believe GLS63 allocations are out until Feb of next year.

I am in Texas (DFW Area) using one of the largest dealers. They are trying to replace the 2021 GLS63 that they had to buy back.

Does that mean it will be ready to you by that date - or - it will go into production on that date and you likely have to wait a couple of more weeks?

That date is when it will complete production. The delivery time will be a few weeks later.

What I was told is that Mercedes is producing very few V-8 vehicles in 2023. The dealers will receive mainly EV, 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder vehicles.
