MB TIRE AND WHEEL

How do you go about purchasing the MB TIRE AND WHEEL warranty after purchasing a new car?

Can you buy it from any MB dealer? Anyone discounting it or not marking it up like the finance guys do?

The first person you should have asked is your sales person at the dealer where you bought the car.
I am sure he would be more than willing to sell you that package.

That’s not how it works. These plans are only discussed when you meet with the finance guy and sign your life away. They then make money on the extras and the extras they added were too much. In fact the sales guys never discuss these at least they don’t in my location.

Seems like you answered your own question.
My SA told me about the wheel warranties and gave me the prices.
I knew I didn't want to get them so I said no thank you.
At the end of the day, you lose money getting these packages -- unless you drive 15K a year over rough terrain / road under harsh conditions.
If you want to know what other dealers / finance guys quote for these warranties, then call them.

It’s a 3rd party warranty and totally not worth it. I have it on my w212 with the 18” AMG rims. Cost like $2800 and lasts for 5 years. On that car, if you fart on the wheel, the rim will bend. Yet I’ve not come anywhere close to justifying the cost of the warranty with fixing bent rims and one damaged tire in the 5 years I’ve had it. If you take it to the dealership, they charge $300. But all they do is schedule the repair on a certain day of the week when the actual guys come to the dealership to fix the wheels. Without the dealership, it costs about $150 to fix a bent rim (and usually done better). That’s a boat load of bent rims to justify the cost. If you actually crack a rim, then you’ve likely gone more damage that just that to the car. I’ve spoken to more than my fair share of wheel shops with my 212 over the years - they all say the MB rims are easy to fix because they’re not forged. They bend to absorb the energy of the hit, but can be pressed back with ease. They don’t like the Nissan, Toyota, Honda cars because they tend to use forged rims.

save yourself the money. Doubt you’ll ever have enough problems to justify the cost on a GLS. We’ve got the 21’s and have hit some potholes that would’ve bent the 18’s on the W212 without question, but didn’t do a thing to the GLS (other than scare me and tick me off).

Furthermore, and just my opinion - if you don’t want to worry about a bent rim in general, then don’t get the AMG rims in general. They seem to the ones that bend like crazy on the 212’s. The non-AMG wheels don’t seem to have nearly the problem. Probably why we’ve not bent one on the GLS with its low profile tires too.
