GLS - ordering, delays, and missing features ?

Greetings everyone. Been missing from the MB world for a while. I used to own a GL, which developed a little issue - blown engine. Since then, I took a little sabbatical from MB.
Thinking of getting back into a GLS and as I am not up to speed with all the news on this, I would like to ask for your opinion and experience on ordering a new one.
Here is the list of concerns I have at this time:
1- ordering a new one - what is a lead time to be expected from ordering, till the vehicle is at the dealer ?
2- features and options: based on relative experience with other manufacturers, there seems to be issues with ordering a set of features, only to find out that some, or half of those requested features are not available, and finding out only at delivery time.
Is this something that MB experienced ?
3- is MSRP a thing of the past ( are they selling a lot over MSRP ? )
Anything you share is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

C450, GLS 63 and a few other things
1 - Really hard to tell on lead time because it varies quite a bit depending upon allocations and other ongoing variables. A typical range would be 2.5-3 months, but 6 months (or more) happens at times. Your dealer should be able to tell you more.
2 - Yes, features are being removed. Often MB knows at time of order and will not let you order certain options, but others are being removed during build. For those that are removed after order you can find out during build (before it arrives), but not sure that is much help. Typical options they have had issues with are wireless charging, augmented reality (seems to be better now and they are retrofitting some cars), and message seats. Looks like things are heading in the right direction with MB, but you never know.
3 - Some dealers seem to be offering MSRP, some not. i would not expect MSRP on a GLS 580 or 63 since those were not manufactured for 7 months or so and are highly constrained, but you can probably find it on a 450 with some effort (although certain states/locations might be harder than others).

Good luck!

I ordered a GLS63- was scheduled for May 1st decade and then got pushed to September. Go figure.

Thank you all. I was wondering of how bad would it be to order one, as I am hearing horror stories from other car manufacturers.
Order one thing, and when it arrives ( some times 8-11 months later ) it has missing features, or devices.
On some models, the dealer tacks on top of MSRP 10-30 k more.
Crazy world we live in.
Anyways, thanks for all the good info.
