Jump Start 2022 GLS 450 with ISG??
I just bought a new 2022 GLS 450, which is a mild hybrid with ISG. I can't determine if it is possible to jump start the vehicle if the battery is dead. The dealer told me that it wasn't possible, but the manual seems to indicate that it can be done. Under the hood there is a grounding post and also a red sliding cover over what appears to be a positive jumper cable connection.
Can anyone say for sure what the deal is? I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone. At a minimum, I need to know so that some tow truck guy doesn't fry my electronics someday when attempting something he shouldn't. Thanks!

In normal circumstances, you should be able to jump start the vehicle as usual. It may take a little more "pre charging" before starting as the 48 volt battery will be charged via the 12 volt battery in this case. That said, there have been quite a few cases of 48 volt battery failures reported, and in those cases, the vehicle has not been able to start at all, and jumping/charging was not helpful.
Should have no problem from the "tow truck guy" as all he can do is charge the 12 volt battery and let the on board electronics do their stuff to the 48v.
