X167 Keys

Does anyone know if the older style keys can be programmed to operated the X167 GLS ?

We lost one of the keys for our 2012 GL350 cdi, so replaced it (almost $1000 here in NZ).

Recently we found the lost key, but now have a 2020 GLS 400d - so wondering if that older key could be programmed to be a spare/3rd key for our GLS ?

Old GL style key

New GLS style key.

Related question then, could the key be transferred/reprogrammed to another vehicle with the same key type ? Or are they only programmable once ?
