Purchase of 20 GLS 450 and Question

After owning or leasing five Acura MDXs since 2004, last week I purchased a CPO 2020 GLS 450 with 20k miles. I also added the additional two years of Extended Warranty, so I am covered until early 2027. I have been spoiled by the 2015 S550 that I have had since April 2019 and wanted a similar experience in my SUV. I have followed the X167 forum for about a year and started thinking about making a change the past three months as I believed I had $10-12k equity in my MDX lease which is up in March.

The vehicle is Mohave Silver Metallic with Macchiato Beige/Magma Grey Leather, and has features I would not have ordered new, including E-Active Body Control and High End Burmester Surround Sound. Original MSRP is $105k and includes Distronic, Warmth & Comfort, MBUX Augmented Video, Massage Seats, Head-up Display, etc, etc, etc. Oddly it has the standard 19” wheels, which is fine with me. Additionally, the previous owner had tinted the windows and had PPF installed on the front section of the vehicle. I also still have time left with the Mercedes Me features.

Which brings me to the first of likely several questions. I look on the vehicle and it says the Version of the various Navigation Maps is V11.1 from 2019. However, I go on the Mercedes Me Connect app and it says I am up to date, and shows several North America installations, the latest being version V17.0 installed 05/31/22. So my question….if the latest installed version is V17.0, why does the vehicle say the latest installed version is V11.1, and how can I confirm V17.0 is installed?

The easiest way is through the Meecedes Me app on your phone. I have s 2020 as well, and a new map is available. I received an email about it a few days ago. This is my app notification for it. It should do it automatically over the air for free soon. If you don’t have the app yet, it’s worth getting. Welcome to the club!!

Wow, that’s amazing to find such a high spec car! I’m curious, what are the last 6 digits of the vin number?

Here is MSRP/Build Sheet. I presume a custom order given the $250 Special Order charge.

Wow, that looks fabulous! You’ve got some incredibly rare options including the high end audio, e-abc, exclusive trim (looks great in walnut), and sport brakes, which is what the SPC charge is for. I was curious about the vin last 6 digits aka serial number to see if it was an early build test car, as that is usually where you see super high spec cars, but it doesn’t seem like that. So I would expect that someone special ordered this car to their exact taste.

If the serial number is above about 70,000 that’s likely the case. Less then that and probably someone at mbusa specced it and it drive for some time under manufacture plates.
