Welcome to Mercedes Benz. They do that. From the injectors, hpfp, etc... Mine ticks too, has since new two years and 52,000 miles ago. My 9 year old 212 ticks as well, always has. Both are fine and never had a problem because of it. But since yours is new and likely still under warranty, I would schedule a visit to the dealer to take a look as well.
If this is your first MB, they are not as quiet at idle as say a Toyota or Nissan product. German cars are typically noisier in the engine department than the asian counterparts. From VW to MB. BMW i4's sound like lawn mowers at cold start! While it may not help, but if your first MB, my only advice is to not jump to the worst-case scenario when something isn't right. You'll go broke if you do that. They are more complicated than some of the other brands in it's class, no argument there. But 9 out of 10 times, the cause of the problem is probably the same reason the problem would exist in another brand.
