Just picked up a new GLS 450 and immediately noticed that the windshield wiper sweep range seems short. At the end of its sweep, the driver side wiper stops well short of parallel to the A pillar. I would say it’s 15° short of that, which looks very odd. Every other car I’ve owned had the wipers sweep past the parallel point.

Can anyone provide a comparison? is the sweep range adjustable?

what are you doing here---run to the dealer and or read your manual

Did you find out if the sweep is adjustible. I notice that our wipers occasionally tap against the window frame - usually when in heavy rain and they are running on the fastest speed.

I’d like to reduce their sweep 1-2 degrees to try and eliminate this annoying tap.

Interesting that you seem to have the opposite problem of me. There’s nothing in the manual and I haven’t checked with the dealer yet, but I plan to text the sales person this morning. I’ll let you know what they say.
