Mbenz engineers are VERY lazy. When @EleBest worked on my 2022 GLS to convert the factory carplay to wireless, he found routes for wireless carplay already built within the MBUX system and hardware, but partially built (photo attached from my 2022 X167 after he upgraded it to wireless and full-screen carplay - this was never there before licenses licenses before Elebest enabled it for me), Mbenz engineers were obviously behind schedule, and Mbenz as a corporate is even worse cause they never bothered to unlock it via OTA......

My Continental OE 21" tires have a 480 wear rating.
I think that's pretty good for a performance tire.

I think the negative camber in the rear is just right.
And even though one of the vendors here keeps trying to sell aftermarket alignment parts, he ought to be focused on domestic and Japanese cars that seem to have more negative rear camber.
But I don't think they need aftermarket parts, either.

That can also be added. Trading in for a new one is a huge expense.

As to smaller wheels, my 2020 GLS was a well optioned special order by the original owner (MSRP 105k) yet they included the standard, at the time, 19" wheels. I have 18,000 miles on my Continental LX25 tires and they still look new. Returned Sunday from a 1,000 mile roundtrip to Charlottesville, VA and the ride was very smooth as well.

YES WE DO - “Bolt-On” Front Camber and Caster along with Rear Camber for domestic and Japanese cars as well.

Specially designed to install so no special tools required or time consuming need for control arm removal. Then precise single wrench adjustable. ULTIMATE - direct on alignment rack UNDER LOAD.

When it comes to Mercedes Benz models similar kits.

Suit all Sedans, Coupes, Wagons, AMG and SUV’s. Including current W167 GLE and GLS !

GLS models - prices starting at $89,000 - was not long before we received requests for front and rear adjustment kits. Owners in disbelief that ongoing adjustment was not included - that onus now on themselves to fund costly, premature tire replacement !

Background re deletion of adjustment - it is all to do with ever increasing speed of new car assembly lines !

Now a “Full Front & Rear ‘4’ Wheel Alignment” - is only basic TOE “directional” adjustment (new car industry’s best kept secret).

Front Camber (and Caster) along with Rear Camber is now factory set to suit “Showroom Height” conditions.

Yet ongoing adjustment facility is essential allowing suspension to travel through required arcs and to be able to adjust tire contact angles when needed - to spread load more evenly. “Excess” edge load can also lead to ruptured side walls, rim damage.

Day to day commuting sighting (and being able to counter) “excess” passenger side edge wear through high cambered roads. “Excess” edge wear both sides through extra passenger loads or not offroading and deciding to lower vehicle height / roll center for safer handling. Fitting wide profile tires. Adjustment to counter curb knock damage.

SEE SPOILER - BOLT-ON ADJUSTER KITS ALL SUV’S INCL. AMG (W167, 166, 164, 163).

Spoiler

Geez.
If having your car handle like a 90's F100 is the goal, just get a 90's F100.

GLS 450 (2022), EQE SUV 350 (2025). GLS 450 (2007)
Here's a data point for you. I've got a 2022 GLS 450 running on 21 inch Pirelli Scorpion Zeros with a staggered setup. The car has about 42,000 miles on it and the tires started brand new with 10/32 of tread depth. At the moment, the front tires have about 6.5 remaining in the rear have about 5.5 remaining. So, the they are a little past their halfway point at this mileage (the legal minimum for tread is of course 2/32}. I am very happy with the service they are providing.

Good to hear. I just bought the Scorpion 3 tires for my B8… they’ll arrive later this week. My GLS runs all-season tire and they seem very sufficient for this car. Am surprised some of you needed dedicated winter tires when the all-season do just fine on this car with the great traction/EPS/system it has.

Depends on where you live. If you live where it gets very cold, AWD/4WD is not a replacement for dedicated winter tires. Here I always feel fine on allseasons in snow. But, I was in Albany, NY one time in a snowstorm with 2 degree temps and the Jeep GC I had at the time wasn't confidence inspiring at all because the cold temp made the tires have no grip.

We are getting way more miles out of our tires and we drive on very poor road surfaces as well as unpaved roads. Ours initially wore the inside of the front tires prematurely. I eventually took it to someone other than Mercedes to have four wheel alignment and the problem was solved. I have been on the fence for a newer GLS to replace the high mileage GL, but, seeing the issues people are having with the ones being built in Alabama, and very poor service and parts availability from Mercedes has me looking at other options. The company has really gone downhill and I've lost complete confidence in them. I hope you can get your issues resolved.
I have a 2015 gl with a bunch of miles and trust me they are completely different animals from my 2022 gls. The 22 is absolutely a beautiful car, but I’ve got a popping noise that I’m going to have to take back to the dealer again so maybe they find it this time. I’m not usually a jerk but my 15 never had to go to the dealer….ever.

I like my GLS X167 VERY much; but I agree that the GL SUVs were awesome and I had more than one and liked them all. Also had an ML.
