Considering no wireless carplay for years, i don’t see MB embracing the Apple way of life…

Mercedes has so far not signed on. Most car manufacturers haven't, either. Mostly BMW and some recent models from BYD, Genesis, Hyundai and Kia as of April this year. Mercedes has signed up to support the new more immersive CarPlay interface and maybe they add key support as part of that. Remains to be seen what this is gonna look like.
