Is there an easy typical fox here or does one usually need to remove the housing and dig into cleaning lenses inside the cabin, on the unit behind the rear view mirror? From dash, comes on and won’t go away unless pressing OK, then routinely reappears after a few minutes of driving.
Could be a real problem, but more often it's condition related. Sun glare (morning or evening) is the biggest problem for me, but also get it in hard rains or snow, if the cameras are dirty, etc...
Clean the windshield, front cameras (don't know that they are used for this, but not positive) and the sensors/logo in the front.
There were some people who had issues because the lense got cloudy internally which required a real repair or replacement.
And my understanding, based on the screen, is that the pre-safe/early braking warning and activation would not work?? In a rain, snow, or poor conditions, is when this feature and benefit would be needed and realized, correct? Seems like a safety issue?
Don't think I understand your comment - is it not a safety issue to drive a vehicle equipped with ER braking and accident avoidance in an inoperable condition, and how in the heck did it "pass" CPO certification last week? It came on during my drive home within 10 min. and same since for each trip I have taken with it.

Sensor needs to be dirty to get the message right? I'd imagine you received the car after a car wash at least?
The fail-safe mode is you can drive your car like it's 1995.
As long as you continue to drive with common sense, it should be fine!

It could be, and that's why there's a warning.
The quickest solution is probably to use your wipers, which are safety features in their own right.
My 2020 GLS 580 shows the same message almost every drive. I have tried cleaning both sides of the windshield in front of the rear view mirror camera and removing the camera and gently cleaning the lens itself to no avail. I asked my dealer to take a look at the issue last time I brought the car in for maintenance and they said they could not reproduce it. I'm going to be more adamant about having them look at it next time. Other people on these forums have said that a camera replacement fixed the problem for them. It's definitely something that I would be sure your dealer solves before the car goes out of warranty.
Definitely sounds like your camera needs to be replaced. When you remove the housing, how dirty is the lens and windshield? Some people were getting a haze from a heating element and I believe MB replaced them with an updated part.

Also a batch of cameras came from the supplier with hazy lenses - mine did, and it wouldn't calibrate when I got a new windshield.
I wonder if asking the dealer to calibrate the camera would uncover the problem.
Get it fixed. I used to get this message everyday and the dealer took care of it. I think they replaced the camera but not sure.
Hello, I had the same problem on our 2020 GLS-450. I purchased it used out of state and I noticed it after I got back home 8 hours later. Anyway, I did some digging and found the video listed below. This corrected my problem. It involves removing the housing of the mirror area and cleaning both camera's in the top of the housing. The problem was not the camera on the bottom . There are 2 camera's in the triangular area that needed to be cleaned. My problem was the glass in front of the camera on the drivers side had a haze of some sort that I cleaned with glass cleaner to remove it. After that was completed I reassembled it and I have not experienced the problem thereafter. Here is the video that I used if your are confident that you can complete the process as instructed. Good luck.
There are two Service Bulletins on the haze. I believe the supplier corrected the issue after 2020.
One was for a batch of cameras that arrived with haze before installation, and another for outgassing after installation.
